GAS TROUBLE.

Gas is a byproduct of rotting or fermentation of food in the digestive tract by bacteria and yeast. It may be foul smelling or odourless. Fermentation produces carbon dioxide, which has no smell.
Bacteria often produce methane and hydrogen sulfide, which do have a foul smell Symptoms
Belching, passing gas ( flatus ), abdominal bloating with rumbling sounds, colicky pains are the most common symptoms of gas
Self Care Suggestions
Lying on the back and bringing the knees to the chest may cause gas to pass. ( Pavanmuktasan ) If that's uncomfortable, simply lying on the abdomen (stomach) may be tried.
Squatting helps to relieve gas.
Babies may be burped over the shoulders.
Treat constipation to relieve gas.
Eliminate or reduce farinaceous ( gas forming ) foods from the diet, such as beans potatoes, sweets, carbonated drinks.
Omit tea, coffee and alcohol.
Eat you meals slowly.
Chew your food well.
Avoid talking too much while eating as a lot of air is gulped in while talking.
If belching is a major problem, belch with the mouth closed or by holding a handkerchief between the teeth and biting it tightly. The idea is not to belch with the mouth open, because in doing so, some amount of air comes out, but, double the amount of air gets sucked in. If this is done successfully over a period of 2-3 days though it will cause some discomfort, the vicious cycle of air swallowing will be broken. To make it simple try to suppress your belch. Make a conscious effort for it.
Also for excessive belching in particular, eat dry food, do not drink water while having food, and preferably water should be taken in atleast 1/2 before and ½ an hour after food.
Home Remedy.
Take 2 teaspoons of Jeera and soak it overnight in 1 big glass of water about 200 ml.
Morning boil this water till it reduces to about 150 ml. Let it cool down a little and then drink this water like warm. Drink one more glass of plain luke warm water ( about 150 ml ) & after 15-30 minutes have your breakfast.
If this does not show any improvement in about 2 weeks time, then you need to see a Homoeopath in your locality. Only after a detailed case study and analysis will he / she be able to pin point on the cause of the problem whether it is a weak digestive system or a dietary error or a lifestyle disorder due to sedentary lifestyle or stress related and treatment would be based on that to get permanant relief from the problem.
